I have a model JVM7195EK6ES. I received "Quick Use and Care" with the microwave and "Installation Instructions". In the latter, it says that to replace the charcoal filter you remove the 2 screws from the top of the plastic grill and slide it forward. Well, mine does not have 2 screws in the top of the plastic grill. I sent away for the complete manual. I received "Owner's Manual" from GE. In there, it says to replace the charcoal filter, you press the buttons on the filter which is suppose to be on the front of the plastic grill. Mine has no such door. So, I went back to the showroom, sure enough, there is a door on the front of the grill on the showroom model. I explained that the one delivered and installed does not have that door nor does it have the 2 screws in the top of the plastic grill in order to remove the grill. Salesman says he is still waiting to hear from the rep. I called GE. Brittany told me that it is probably on the top of the microwave. I explained that it is an over the range item and is bolted to the cupboard above. Brittany told me I would have to take down the microwave to replace the charcoal filter. I laughed out loud, said thank you and ended the call. When I went back to the showroom, I explained to the salesman that mine looks just like an LG model that they had on the floor with the solid plastic grill, no door and no screws on top of the grill. Mine also has what appears to be a charcoal grill that you can see from the top of the grill on the right hand side just like on the LG model they had. It is not self contained as you can see it through the top of the grill and it is similar to an accordion, it runs with the pleats being vertical. I am at a real loss and can get no answers at this point. I have and have had other GE appliances that I am very happy with. But my new microwave and new fridge have both turned out to be huge disappointments. One of the reasons I chose this microwave was because the charcoal filter was going to be so easy to replace every 6 months. Now, I cannot even figure out how to get to it and I do not think this filter looks anything like the ones pictured in the manuals - from what I can see from the top of grill looking down into the openings. There are no doors on the grill nor behind the grill. NOT PLEASED!
